Athletic Performance Coach
Sean Panado is an Athletic Performance Coach at 4sight Academy and a recent graduate from the University of California, Los Angeles. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology and is studying to become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Prior to envisioning 4sight Academy, he interned at Saint Augustine High School in San Diego where he instructed over 200 elite-level high school and collegiate athletes. While at SAHS, his primary responsibilities were to assess form, correct mechanics, and adjust natural tendencies in order to reduce injuries and improve strength. Sean’s approach to performance training is based on principles from: Mike Sweat, SAHS strength and conditioning coach; David Alexander and Donnie Ramon, co-owners of DBC Fitness Miami; and Dr. Ramsey Nijem, NBA and NCAA sport performance coach.
A San Diego native, Sean attributes his refined skills of attention-to-detail and leadership to his mentor Mike Haupt. Mike Haupt and Greg Popovich, Head Coach of the San Antonio Spurs, have similar philosophies to sports since they share the same mentor. Sean is aware that he has a long way to be before being mentioned in the same conversation as. These coaching legends, but his dedication to integrity and building meaningful relationships with people will never change.
Lorena Garnica is the Outreach Coordinator at 4sight Academy. She is currently a full-time student who is interested in the healthcare field. As an intern for UCLA’s Sports Medicine program, she has gained incredible insight into the fitness industry through some of the top professionals at the NCAA Division I level.
Studying at the University of California, Los Angeles, Lorena is scheduled to graduate in the Spring of 2020 with an undergraduate degree in Psychobiology. After graduating, she plans to complete her master’s degree in Public Health before applying to medical school. Lorena has been involved in organizations such as Global Medical Training (GMT) that have helped her broaden her understanding in medicine and patient care. As a first-year, she traveled abroad to provide medical care in the underprivileged communities of Peru. It was through this experience that she discovered medicine as her passion and field of interest. Lorena dedicates most of her time to her studies and UCLA’S Sports Medicine program where she works with different teams coordinating programs among athletes, coaches, and other physician faculty.
With aspirations of becoming a surgeon, Lorena credits her motivation to help others to the experiences she had along the way. Through the opportunity to help others she has learned to connect with people from different backgrounds and understand the impact that even the smallest change can make.
Matthew Anguiano is the Research Analyst at 4sight Academy and is currently studying at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He is expected to graduate with a degree in Neuroscience in the Spring of 2023. Matthew is most excited about the opportunities available at Vanderbilt and its research-based environment. In particular, he hopes to study a variety of women’s health issues and volunteer his time helping underprivileged mothers. With a deep interest in the healthcare, he will pursue a medical degree and follow his drive to improve the lives of others.
Matthew has spent time interning at Scripps Mercy Hospital Emergency Department and Pagador Physical Therapy in San Diego. While working as an intern for Pagador Physical Therapy, he learned about sports injuries and the intricate mechanics of the human body. In tandem with his love of studying the human body, he also spends his time reading research articles. As a frequent user of PubMed and Google Scholar, Matthew is well-versed in the various fields of medical research.
After experiencing an injury while playing rugby two years ago, Matthew personally knows the traumatic side of sports injuries and the long recoveries often associated with them. During his recovery process, he found a mentor in his physical therapist Keith Mahler. It was Keith who introduced Matthew to the vast world of medical research and the importance of injury prevention.
