We share a profound joy for giving back to our community
Sean Panado is the Lead Visionary of 4sight Academy. On track to become a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association in April 2020, Sean is studying at the University of California, Los Angeles. He is earning an undergraduate degree in Psychobiology and is expected to graduate in the Spring of 2020. He plans to pursue a master's degree in the field of Sports Science.
Prior to envisioning 4sight Academy, he interned at Saint Augustine High School in San Diego where he instructed over 100 elite-level high school and collegiate athletes. While at SAHS, his primary responsibilities were to correct form, mechanics, and natural tendencies in order to reduce injuries and improve strength. Sean’s approach to sports training is based on principles from Mike Sweat, SAHS strength and conditioning coach, and David Alexander and Donnie Ramon, co-owners of DBC Fitness Miami.
Sean, a San Diego native, attributes his refined skills of attention-to-detail and leadership to his mentor, Mike Haupt. Mike Haupt, 2013 California State Coach of the Year, and Gregg Popovich, Head Coach of the San Antonio Spurs, share similar philosophies to sports since they were guided by the same mentor. Sean is aware he has a long way to go to be mentioned in the same conversation as these coaching legends, but his dedication to integrity and building meaningful relationships with people will never change.
Lorena Garnica is the Outreach Coordinator at 4sight Academy. She is currently a full-time student who is interested in the healthcare field. As an intern for UCLA’s Sports Medicine program, she has gained incredible insight into the fitness industry through some of the top professionals at the NCAA Division I level.
Studying at the University of California, Los Angeles, Lorena is scheduled to graduate in the Spring of 2020 with an undergraduate degree in Psychobiology. After graduating, she plans to complete her master’s degree in Public Health before applying to medical school. Lorena has been involved in organizations such as Global Medical Training (GMT) that have helped her broaden her understanding in medicine and patient care. As a first-year, she traveled abroad to provide medical care in the underprivileged communities of Peru. It was through this experience that she discovered medicine as her passion and field of interest. Lorena dedicates most of her time to her studies and UCLA’S Sports Medicine program where she works with different teams coordinating programs among athletes, coaches, and other physician faculty.
With aspirations of becoming a surgeon, Lorena credits her motivation to help others to the experiences she had along the way. Through the opportunity to help others she has learned to connect with people from different backgrounds and understand the impact that even the smallest change can make.
Matthew Anguiano is the Research Analyst at 4sight Academy and is currently studying at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He is expected to graduate with a degree in Neuroscience in the Spring of 2023. Matthew is most excited about the opportunities available at Vanderbilt and its research-based environment. In particular, he hopes to study a variety of women’s health issues and volunteer his time helping underprivileged mothers. With a deep interest in the healthcare, he will pursue a medical degree and follow his drive to improve the lives of others.
Matthew has spent time interning at Scripps Mercy Hospital Emergency Department and Pagador Physical Therapy in San Diego. While working as an intern for Pagador Physical Therapy, he learned about sports injuries and the intricate mechanics of the human body. In tandem with his love of studying the human body, he also spends his time reading research articles. As a frequent user of PubMed and Google Scholar, Matthew is well-versed in the various fields of medical research.
After experiencing an injury while playing rugby two years ago, Matthew personally knows the traumatic side of sports injuries and the long recoveries often associated with them. During his recovery process, he found a mentor in his physical therapist Keith Mahler. It was Keith who introduced Matthew to the vast world of medical research and the importance of injury prevention.
Kristen Fung is a Media Developer at 4sight Academy and is currently studying at the University of California, Los Angeles. She is expected to graduate with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Chinese in the Spring of 2022. Kristen is also a member of the UCLA Women's Club Basketball team and Bruin Creators, a video-making club, at UCLA.
Her passion in videography developed in high school, and she has created travel videos and short films on her YouTube channel. In particular, she recently competed in UCLA's Campus Film Fest and her film made it to the Top 16. She understands the power and effect that a video brings, and she is always learning the most effective ways to spread positive messages that are thought-provoking and intriguing.
With her experience in playing basketball, Kristen values injury prevention exercises as she suffered from a dislocated knee as a senior in high school. She believes that every athlete should be taught how to protect their bodies and train in an injury-risk free way. If not playing basketball, Kristen loves recording videos and exploring new food places!
